Unlike gay advocacy groups within The United Methodist Church (UMC), Transforming Congregations does not partner with local churches in order to tally numbers or promote a denominational political position. The Judicial Council ruled many years ago that UMC church organizations, including local congregations, may not adopt the labels "reconciling," "transforming," or "confessing" because to do so is divisive.*  We encourage local UMC churches to abide by that ruling.

We do invite ALL local churches to partner with us - and with other like-minded congregations - through the Exodus Church Association (ECA). The ECA is a referral network of caring communities that share a common cause. ECA churches promote a redemptive biblical worldview on the issue of homosexuality and are committed to being safe places of worship and discipleship for those with unwanted same-sex attractions.
