Become a Transforming Congregation

Your church is a "transforming" congregation when it commits to minister God's truth to sexual strugglers and their families and friends.

You can:

Challenge our cultural myths that "everybody's doing it," that what consenting adults do behind closed doors is their business alone, that homosexuals are "born that way" and cannot change. Get informed - from Scripture and from solid scientific and psychological studies - and then be prepared to share what you believe.

Offer a warm and welcoming place to the sexual strugglers in your congregation. Those who succeed in overcoming same-sex attraction have attributed much of their success to a supportive church family - brothers and sisters in Christ who understand their struggle and compassionately encourage them to persevere and overcome.

Proclaim the hope - and the reality - of transformation.  Read books and testimonies about those who have found freedom from homosexual and heterosexual sin. Better yet, talk to one of them. Or take the risk of sharing your own testimony. Know where people can get help, and direct them there.

Invite a Transforming Congregations speaker to come to your area to teach or preach about transformational sexual healing. You can also host our workshop --  "Forward into Ministry" -- to educate and equip your church leaders for effective ministry to the sexually sinful, confused or broken.

Partner with us through your prayers and financial contributions. Consider making Transforming Congregations part of your personal or church's regular mission giving. Network with other like-minded churches through the Exodus Church Association.
